Our Staff

Excellence in Catholic Preschool Education for over 30 years.

Mrs. Aguiar
Our Director

Mrs. Aguiar, who first came to us as a parent, has been working here since 1997. Both her sons are alumni of our program. Her passion for Early Childhood began many years ago when she first went to college and studied the theories of Maria Montessori. After years in the field and receiving her CDA and Director’s credential, she earned a BS Degree in Applied Science with an Emphasis in Early Childhood Development. She taught a four-year-old class for many years before becoming the Director of the school.

Mindy Geer
Bookkeeper/Registrar

When Mrs. Geer’s two children attended the preschool she became involved helping in the classroom and with car line. She began working with us when an Assistant Teacher position became available with the four-year-old class in 2012. She moved to the office the following year to better utilize her degree and background in Business but that experience gave her a wonderful insight to the staff and classroom’s needs. She is the backbone of the preschool.

Emily Bennett
Administrative Assistant

Mrs. Bennett joined the St. Paul Preschool family in 2011 as a parent of a child in the 3 year old program. She became an active volunteer, assisting with the Spaghetti Dinner and other preschool events. In 2015 she became a member of the preschool advisory board. She comes to us with eight years’ experience teaching special education and a Master’s Degree from the University of Florida in Curriculum and Instruction. Mrs. Bennett believes that preschool is the foundation for the rest of life. She has four children, three cats, and in her spare time she enjoys reading and photography. She is excited to be part of the staff.

Mrs. A’Hearn
Lead Teacher for two year olds

Mrs. A’Hearn, who came on staff in December of 2013, first got to know us through her many volunteer activities while her children attended the preschool. She hosted the spaghetti dinner; helped out in the classrooms etc. and even though her education and previous work experiences were outside the field she was hooked. She received her CDA and is currently working towards her teaching certificate, attending the Educator Preparation Institute at Hillsborough Community College. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Economics from Eastern Illinois University. She greets each child with a huge smile every morning and loves to encourage their developing skills through the arts.

Mrs. Musial
Assistant Teacher for two-year-olds

As the parent of two children who attended our preschool she too got to know us through volunteering at first. She joined the staff in 2015 and is currently working to attain the required coursework. Her patient, loving nature makes her a wonderful asset to our program.

Mrs. Morehouse
Assistant Teacher for two-year-olds

Mrs. Morehouse joined our staff in 2008 but she has been a part of our preschool family since her middle daughter was a student here many years ago. Mrs. Morehouse loves young children so much she had six of her own (the younger four attended our preschool). She and her husband are originally from Michigan, where she earned an AS Degree in Commercial/Graphic Arts. After spending some twenty-five years coaching gymnastics, she decided to change her career focus to Early Childhood and now holds a National Child Development Associate. Her time is divided between her children’s activities (track & cheering), sports photography, crafts and taking continuing education classes for her job here.

Mrs. Kors
Lead Teacher for three year olds

Mrs. Kors, who was born and grew up in Indiana, came to SPCP many years ago. She received her BS degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University, has a CDA and varied course work in Early Childhood including graduate courses. While living in Tennessee, she taught in Early Childhood for the first time. When her last child finished St. Paul Preschool, she was offered a position and has been here ever since. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching the Lightning & Rays, reading and walks with her dog. Mrs. Kors is the mother of four and grandmother of seven. She enjoys “seeing the children grow and ‘blossom’ from year’s beginning to end”.

Mrs. Espaillat
Assistant Teacher for three year olds & Assistant for Lunch Bunch

Mrs. Espaillat/Mrs. E., first got involved in our school when her Grandson attended our program in 2014. She joined the staff in 2015 as an afternoon Assistant in the office and worked as Substitute Teacher when needed. This year, she is working as an Assistant Teacher for the 3 yrs. old program and loving every minute of the day. Working with children has always been part of her life. She has worked in various Catholic schools for over 25 years. She earned an A.A. S.S. in Business Correspondence, and continued her education in Liberal Arts at State University College in Buffalo, NY and New Mexico State University College. She earned a Bilingual Translator Certificate from Miami Dade College and has worked as a freelance translator for many years. She is now seeking to earn a degree in Early Childhood. Mrs. E. enjoys sports, art, painting, and being an active part in her grandson’s sports.

Mrs. Sisco
Lead Teacher for three year olds

Mrs. Sisco moved around a lot as a child but has been in Tampa since 1984 and considers it home base. She has a BS in Advertising and Marketing but when her younger son was in preschool she got involved in his school through volunteering. When a position as an Assistant Teacher opened up, she applied and the rest, as she says, “is history.” She has since received her National CDA and lives her philosophy that you “never stop learning” by participating in many trainings and Master Degree courses in Early Childhood at USF. She has two grown children who are alumnus of the Preschool and enjoys gardening, reading and any activities she can do with her chocolate lab, Cosby.

Mrs. Campbell
Assistant Teacher for three year olds
Lead Teacher for Aftercare & Lunch Bunch

Mrs. Campbell’s has been at SPCP since 1998. She came to work here all those years ago because she absolutely loved being around young children. Having received her BS in Recreation and Parks from Penn State, this was her second career. She returned to school and now holds a National CDA. Two of Mrs. Campbell’s three children are alumni of the preschool. She is also a Weight Watchers Leader and is very interested in nutrition and exercise. Her philosophy is that, “A smile is contagious” and you must “live in the moment”.

Mrs. Allen
Lead Teacher for four year olds

Mrs. Allen graduated from USF with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood & Elementary Education with a certification in gifted education. She taught in the Hillsborough County Public School System for 11 years before joining SPCP in 2006. She is an avid sports fan, loves to read, and participates in her son's (also an alumnus of SPCP) many activities.

Mrs. O’Brien
Assistant Teacher for four year olds

Mrs. O’Brien’s enthusiasm and love for children was evident when she first came to us as a parent volunteer when both her children attended our preschool. She joined the staff in 2014 and has since received her CDA and AA degree. She is currently working towards her Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. When you meet her it isn’t hard to see that she has completely immersed herself into the Early Childhood world right down to her growing collection of themed aprons.

Mrs. Blanchard
Lead Teacher for four year olds

Mrs. Blanchard, like most of our staff, first found the preschool as a parent. When her younger child was going to begin, she applied for a teaching position that had just been vacated. Her degree in Elementary Education and experience working with children, who have diverse learning styles in continuous progress models, made her the perfect candidate. She believes that “childhood is a magical time. It is when all the world is a wonder. As teachers, we have the privilege to live vicariously through a child’s eyes.” She spends any spare time she has with her family and at her children’s activities.

Shannon “Shay” Wynn
Assistant Teacher for four year olds

Mrs. Wynn joined the staff in 2016, bringing over 25 years of teaching experience. Although she is new to the St. Paul Catholic Preschool family, she calls her arrival here “fate” as she has long shared a connection to other staff members, teaching Mrs. Morehouse’s older two children and working with Mrs. Sisco many years prior. She has two children ages 20 and 22 and enjoys visiting the beach, caring for her two dogs, and crafting. She also serves as the advisor of standards and ethics for Alpha Delta Pi sorority at Florida Southern College which gives her a wide variety of experience with children in various different stages of childhood. She loves working with young children and believes that as children realize they are in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment they become sponges for new information and that creates the ideal foundation for learning.

Mrs. Power
Lead Teacher for four year olds

Mrs. Power has worked in Early Childhood since 2001. She came to St. Paul as a parent and began working here in 2006 as an Assistant Teacher and Teacher with the 2’s, 3’s and 4’s. She holds a BA in Business Finance from USF, a Child Development Associate National Credential, and is currently taking college courses for her teaching certificate. She and her husband, as well as their three collegiate children, grew up in Tampa and attended the local Catholic schools. She “loves contributing to the positive progress of each child’s individual achievements”.

Mrs. Cloude
Assistant Teacher for four year olds

Mrs. Cloude recently came to us from a Catholic preschool in Georgia but considers Orlando, where she has spent most of her life, as home. She has BS and MS degrees in Special Education from FSU and is certified in Early Childhood Education as well. She has been in the education field since the 1980 and has 19 years of teaching experience with Orange County Public Schools.  Mrs. Cloude  loves children’s literature and strives to help children “savor books” as she did as a child. When she is not at school, she enjoys college football, the beach, crafting and spending time with her three adult children.

Melanie Garcia
Assistant for After Care & Lunch Bunch

Melanie Garcia is originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador and is currently a student at Hillsborough Community College working towards an Associate of Art degree with plans to transfer to USF for a BS in Nursing. She comes from a large family and loves working with children. She has been a part of the St. Paul community since she was in middle school. After graduating from high school, she became interested in giving back to the parish so she started as a volunteer in the nursery on Sunday mornings. That grew into helping in the parish office, being a ministry leader for coffee and donuts, and volunteering as a catechist for students preparing to receive their First Holy Communion. We are delighted to have Ms. Garcia join our preschool staff.
