Mindy Geer
Assistant Director

When Mrs. Geer’s two children attended the preschool she became involved helping in the classroom and with car line. She began working with us when an Assistant Teacher position became available with the four-year-old class in 2012. She moved to the office the following year to better utilize her degree and background in Business but that experience gave her a wonderful insight to the staff and classroom’s needs. She is the backbone of the preschool.

Karen Overmeyer
Lead Teacher for two year olds

I joined the St. Paul Catholic Preschool family as a parent in 2015 when my son, Davis (5), enrolled in the two-year-old program. He continued on and will be attending Kindergarten, fully prepared due to the wonderful teachers and curriculum at this school. My younger son, Rhys (3), will be attending his second year here. I received my BS in Elementary Education at Clemson University in South Carolina and my Master’s Degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University. I have eight years of elementary teaching experience in Johns Creek, Georgia. I thoroughly enjoyed my time staying home with my sons but I am looking forward to being back in a school setting with the ones who make it all worthwhile…the children! I was a substitute teacher during the 2017-2018 school year. I believe in the learning philosophy at SPCP which is to nurture the unique learning styles of children and foster a safe learning space for a child’s development. In my spare time I enjoy running, reading, and spending time with my family.

Mrs. Musial
Assistant Teacher for two-year-olds

As the parent of two children who attended our preschool she too got to know us through volunteering at first. She joined the staff in 2015 and is currently working to attain the required coursework. Her patient, loving nature makes her a wonderful asset to our program.

Mrs. Morehouse
Assistant Teacher for two-year-olds

Mrs. Morehouse joined our staff in 2008 but she has been a part of our preschool family since her middle daughter was a student here many years ago. Mrs. Morehouse loves young children so much she had six of her own (the younger four attended our preschool). She and her husband are originally from Michigan, where she earned an AS Degree in Commercial/Graphic Arts. After spending some twenty-five years coaching gymnastics, she decided to change her career focus to Early Childhood and now holds a National Child Development Associate. Her time is divided between her children’s activities (track & cheering), sports photography, crafts and taking continuing education classes for her job here.

Mrs. Kors
Lead Teacher for three-year-olds

Mrs. Kors, who was born and grew up in Indiana, came to SPCP many years ago. She received her BS degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University, has a CDA and varied course work in Early Childhood including graduate courses. While living in Tennessee, she taught in Early Childhood for the first time. When her last child finished St. Paul Preschool, she was offered a position and has been here ever since. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching the Lightning & Rays, reading and walks with her dog. Mrs. Kors is the mother of four and grandmother of seven. She enjoys “seeing the children grow and ‘blossom’ from year’s beginning to end”.

Shannon “Shay” Wynn
Assistant Teacher for three-year-olds

Mrs. Wynn joined the staff in 2016, bringing over 25 years of teaching experience. She received a BS degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University and obtained a Professional Florida Educator's Certificate in PreKindergarten/Primary Education (Ages 3-Grade 3). Although she is new to the St. Paul Catholic Preschool family, she calls her arrival here “fate” as she has long shared a connection to other staff members, teaching Mrs. Morehouse’s older two children and working with Mrs. Sisco many years prior. She has two children ages 20 and 22 and enjoys visiting the beach, caring for her two dogs, and crafting. She also serves as the advisor of standards and ethics for Alpha Delta Pi sorority at Florida Southern College which gives her a wide variety of experience with children in various different stages of childhood. She loves working with young children and believes that as children realize they are in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment they become sponges for new information and that creates the ideal foundation for learning.

Mrs. Sisco
Lead Teacher for three-year-olds

Mrs. Sisco moved around a lot as a child but has been in Tampa since 1984 and considers it home base. She has a BS in Advertising and Marketing but when her younger son was in preschool she got involved in his school through volunteering. When a position as an Assistant Teacher opened up, she applied and the rest, as she says, “is history.” She has since received her National CDA and lives her philosophy that you “never stop learning” by participating in many trainings and Master Degree courses in Early Childhood at USF. She has two grown children who are alumnus of the Preschool and enjoys gardening, reading and any activities she can do with her chocolate lab, Cosby.

Mrs. Campbell
Assistant Teacher for three-year-olds
Lead Teacher for Extended Day Program

Mrs. Campbell’s has been at SPCP since 1998. She came to work here all those years ago because she absolutely loved being around young children. Having received her BS in Recreation and Parks from Penn State, this was her second career. She returned to school and now holds a National CDA. Two of Mrs. Campbell’s three children are alumni of the preschool. She is also a Weight Watchers Leader and is very interested in nutrition and exercise. Her philosophy is that, “A smile is contagious” and you must “live in the moment”.

Gabrielle Ruiz
Assistant Teacher for four-year-olds

Mrs. O’Brien
Lead Teacher for four-year-olds

Mrs. O’Brien’s enthusiasm and love for children was evident when she first came to us as a parent volunteer when both her children attended our preschool. She joined the staff in 2014 and has since received her CDA and AA degree. She is currently working towards her Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. When you meet her it isn’t hard to see that she has completely immersed herself into the Early Childhood world right down to her growing collection of themed aprons.

Mrs. Echenique
Lead Teacher for four-year-olds

Mrs. Echenique joined the St. Paul family like so many of her fellow teachers—as a parent first. When her daughter was attending preschool here, she began substituting. She became an assistant the following year and then became a lead teacher. She returns to us after spending two years teaching Kindergarten. Mrs. E. is married and has two children. Her son Austin recently graduated from Jesuit and now attends FSU, and her daughter Abby attends Academy of the Holy Names. She loves going to the beach, reading, and she love, love, loves teaching!

Mrs. Espaillat
Assistant Teacher for four-year-olds & Extended Day Lead

Mrs. Espaillat/Mrs. E., first got involved in our school when her Grandson attended our program in 2014. She joined the staff in 2015 as an afternoon Assistant in the office and worked as Substitute Teacher when needed. This year, she is working as an Assistant Teacher for the 3 yrs. old program and loving every minute of the day. Working with children has always been part of her life. She has worked in various Catholic schools for over 25 years. She earned an A.A. S.S. in Business Correspondence, and continued her education in Liberal Arts at State University College in Buffalo, NY and New Mexico State University College. She earned a Bilingual Translator Certificate from Miami Dade College and has worked as a freelance translator for many years. She is now seeking to earn a degree in Early Childhood. Mrs. E. enjoys sports, art, painting, and being an active part in her grandson’s sports.

Mrs. Power
Lead Teacher for four-year-olds

Mrs. Power has worked in Early Childhood since 2001. She came to St. Paul as a parent and began working here in 2006 as an Assistant Teacher and Teacher with the 2’s, 3’s and 4’s. She holds a BA in Business Finance from USF, a Child Development Associate National Credential, and is currently taking college courses for her teaching certificate. She and her husband, as well as their three collegiate children, grew up in Tampa and attended the local Catholic schools. She “loves contributing to the positive progress of each child’s individual achievements”.

Mrs. Laine
Assistant Teacher for four-year-olds

One of the things that attracted Mrs. Laine to St. Paul Catholic Preschool is the feeling that most of its teachers tell her life story: a nervous mom trusts the school with the care and education of her children then she gradually falls in love with the St. Paul family and wants to be part of it even after one of her children has graduated. Therefore, moving from her career in the legal field, Mrs. Laine recently obtained a teaching certificate from the Educator Preparation Institute at Hillsborough Community College. Mrs. Laine is originally from Romania, Transylvania more specificly. Aside from spending time with her husband and two children (Julia-5, Erik-3), Mrs. Laine enjoys travelling, cooking and playing tennis.

Ms. Kendziorski
Assistant Teacher for Extended Day Program

Ms. Kendziorski is a USF student researcher at the Center for Drug Discovery and Innovation focusing on infectious disease and immunology projects. Right now she enjoys working at the preschool and the church nursery. She anticipates joining the Peace Corps in the coming year to fulfill a lifelong dream. In her free time, she is a dancer.
