✅ 10 Tips to Avoid Phishing Scams:

Check the sender’s email address – Scammers often use addresses that look similar to real ones but may include misspellings or strange characters.

Be cautious with urgent requests – Scammers often create a false sense of urgency to pressure you into acting quickly.

Do not click on suspicious links – Hover over links to see where they actually lead before clicking.

Never share personal information – Do not give out passwords, Social Security numbers, or banking information via email or text.

Verify requests independently – If someone asks for help or money, call or speak with them directly to confirm.

Watch for grammar and spelling mistakes – Poor grammar can be a sign of a scam.

Don’t open unexpected attachments – They may contain malware or viruses.

Enable two-factor authentication – This adds an extra layer of security to your accounts.

Keep software up to date – Updates often include security patches to help protect against scams.

Report suspicious messages – Notify the parish office or your email provider to help stop further scams.
