Catholic Youth Soccer (CYS) League – Winter 2026 Season Registration Details

• Registration is now CLOSED for Winter 2026 CYS Season
• Regular Registration Fees were $180 per player
• Season Dates:  Saturdays from January 10, 2026 through March 28, 2026
• Number of Games per Season:  12 (8 regular season games, 4 playoff games)
• Game Days: All games are played on Saturdays in aforementioned time frame above

Catholic Youth Soccer (CYS) League – Fall 2026 Season Registration Details

• Registration will OPEN on June 1, 2026, for Fall 2026 CYS Season
• Early Bird Registration Fees will be posted by June 1, 2026
• Season Dates:  August 2026 – November 2026 (exact schedule to be posted by June 1, 2026)
• Number of Games per Season:  12 (8 regular season games, 4 playoff games)
• Game Days: All games are played on Saturdays in aforementioned time frame above
• Waitlist:  Please note that interested players may be placed on a waitlist if their division has already reached its maximum team size. If sufficient registrations are received before the deadline, a second team may be formed. Individuals who register late may not be guaranteed a roster spot if the division remains at capacity.

Player Information

• Ages: Co-ed, ages 4 to 18
• Divisions: U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U18 (Note:  The U stands for the word “Under”)
• No prior soccer experience required

Game Format

• U6 & U8: 4v4 (no goalie), 40-minute games (2×20 min halves)
• U10–U18: 7v7 (with goalie), 48-minute games (2×24 min halves)
• Mandatory Substitutions:
  • Every 5 minutes for U6 & U8
  • Every 8 minutes for U10–U18

Field Sizes

• U6 & U8: ~20×30 yards
• U10–U18: ~40×60 yards

Practice Schedule

• U6 & U8: 30 minutes before game time (or alternate day if chosen by coach)
• U10–U18: 1 hour before game time (or alternate day if chosen by coach)

Travel & Tournaments

• Teams may travel up to six (6) times during the regular season to one or more of the following fields:  Our Lady of the Rosary, St. Mark the Evangelist, and/or St. Mary.
• Catholic Cup Games (Final 4 games) held at:  Our Lady of the Rosary Soccer Complex, 2348 Collier Pkwy, Land O’ Lakes, FL 34639

Equipment & Uniform

• The player uniform (kit) will consist of a soccer jersey top, soccer black shorts, and a pair of soccer socks issued by the league
• Required: Shin guards (available at major retailers)
• Recommended: Soccer cleats (no metal)
• No Jewelry: Watches, necklaces, earrings, etc. not allowed except for medical ID bracelets which must be taped to the arm
• Uniform Shorts: Wear issued shorts; if unavailable, wear black, pocketless shorts or sweat pants

In the event that inclement weather necessitates the postponement or cancellation of a soccer game this season, the CYS Director, Patrick Poland, will notify all families via email regarding the status of Saturday games.

Please note that games may also be canceled due to unsafe or poor field conditions. An email communication from the CYS Director serves as the official and final determination regarding game status.

Coaches will be needed for each team from U6 to U18 Divisions.  Coaches will need to commit to all games and practices.  All coaches must complete a Level II FBI background screening and complete Safe Environment Training.  Previous coaching experience and/or playing experience is preferred.  Currently, we are seeking a U12 coach.

Volunteer referees are needed at all games. All referees 18 years of age and older must complete a Level II FBI background screening and complete Safe Environment Training. Referees under the age of 18 will not need to complete a background screening.  We will offer training sessions.  Previous referee experience is preferred, but not required.
